Building a Better Future for Consumers, Advisers and Providers
Financial Planning Advisers
Global Best Practice & Value of Advice
As the advice profession globally undergoes rapid change, how do advisers demonstrate to clients the value they bring? More importantly, how can they both survive and thrive in this new environment? David Haintz, one of Australia’s most successful planners, has some invaluable insights to share. Don’t miss it!
At the heart of David’s presentation is the idea that advisors need to develop an acute awareness of the areas where they can add and earn real value and the areas they can easily outsource.
Building this understanding starts with reflecting on your own strengths and setting that within a consistent framework and philosophy. From there, the other parts of the puzzle fall into place – from client segmentation to pricing, processes, systems and marketing and through to ongoing measurement.
This effort is made easier by jettisoning increasingly commoditised areas such as product-led solutions, standardised portfolio management and discretionary services.
About David Haintz: David, Principal of Global Advisor Alpha, remains the only adviser in Australia to be awarded the two prominent awards – Australian Financial Planner of the Year (2005), and Australian Best Practice of the Year (2004).
He has presented at international conventions such as the UK Institute of Financial Planning, and the South African Institute of Financial Planning, as well as presentations and consulting engagements in diverse locations such as India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Holland, Germany, and the US.
David was the sixth adviser in Australia to be awarded a Fellow of the FPA, and served on the FPA Disciplinary Committee for seven years, the FPA Professionalism Committee for six years, and was a National Judge at the FPA’s inaugural Value of Advice Awards. He is a founding trustee of the Future2 Foundation (the foundation of the financial planning profession) and lectured at the Securities Institute of Australia (now FINSIA) for six years, and currently, sits on the international Financial Planning Standards Board – Developing Markets Practice Management Working Group.
David is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER in Australia and a past director of the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA), in which time he was instrumental in the push for professionalism. David has had a 26-year career with his own firm and subsequently became a founding director of Shadforth Financial Group with over 100 advisers; which was taken over in 2014 for $670m – at the time $13b FUM, $165m revenue, and $58m EBIT.
